Guillermo Trejo is originally from Mexico where he has exhibited widely. Trejo studied at the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Etching in Mexico City, where he specialized in printmaking and drawing. He completed his MFA at the University of Ottawa in 2012. In his practice he is interested in exploring issues surrounding social and political art. Guillermo Trejo studied the history of print media and the variety of ways it can be used. For him, posters and prints are much more than simple communication systems, these are mediums that generate ideas, and this is a way for him to broadcast without censorship.
